MiniTuck Abdominoplasty with Hysterectomy
55 year old female did not like the lower abdominal bulge. She needed a hysterectomy and decided to recontour her abdomen with a minituck abdominoplasty at the same time. Her Gynecologist performed the hysterectomy and then Dr. Bermant performed the mini-abdominoplasty.
Height 5' 4" Weight 118 pounds
Location Surgery: Hospital Operating Room
Anesthesia: General with Tumescent Technique
Stay: Discharged second day after surgery. (Limiting factor was the hysterectomy surgery).
Abdominal Sculpture included:
- Tightening of the rectus muscles of the abdomen from the belly button to the pubic bone
- Liposuction contouring of the abdominal fat
- Removal of small ellipse of skin just above the pubic region.

Even with such early after surgery photographs, the new shape of the abdomen is seen. The extra fat has been treated by liposuction. The loose rectus muscles (abdominal wall "sit up" muscle) were tightened below the belly button. Notice the limited bruising and swelling one week after surgery.

The early wound still has Steri-Strips (special tape that supports the healing tissues about the incision. Remember this scar is only a week old! Her shape will continue to evolve.
