Living with Sagging Breasts, and Pictures Before After Breast Lift Surgery

41 year old female did not like her sagging breasts. In a bra, the breast size was just fine. Out of the bra, the breasts would sag terribly, they were too flat, and hung too low. Her skin tends to be loose and very elastic. She had sagging breasts since the age of 18. Her father also has loose skin. She has been pregnant twice and breast fed for several months each time. With pregnancy her breast size increased from a 32 C/D to a 36 E bra. However, the sagging did not worsen after the breasts returned to their normal size.

This patient explained she has been researching breast lift surgery for 25 years. She did not want breast implants, she liked the size of her breasts in a bra. She wanted shapely full breasts that sit higher on her chest, breasts that were more symmetrical and natural looking. She was tired of having to wear clothing to minimize the embarrassment of loose sagging breasts that tended to fall out of her bra when bending over.

Anesthesia: Tumescent Local with Heavy Sedation

Breast lift surgery can suspend sagging breasts. Hanging drooping tissues can be raised to a more natural position. Upper breast fullness would require breast implants, which this patient did not want. Dr. Bermant prefers techniques that supports sagging tissues using the breast tissue itself, not the skin. Internal support is typically important, not just for patients with loose skin.
