Breast Lift Mastopexy Tumescent Technique
The wet technique can result in breast lift sculpture with:
- Less blood loss and bleeding
- Less bruising
- Less swelling after surgery
- Less after surgery discomfort
- Lower chance needing drains after surgery
Deep sedation means that patients are heavily sedated and asleep during their Tumescent Breast Lift Surgery.
Breast Lift Mastopexy surgery can be done with a tumescent technique. A dilute
solution of local anesthetic and epinephrine injected early during the
operation changes the nature of the surgery. This is similar to the methods
used during tumescent liposuction or super-wet suction lipectomy. This is also similar to male breast
reduction with tumescent
technique (warning graphic images). Dr. Bermant has adapted the
wet technique for use with breast lift mastopexy alone or when
liposuction is part of the surgical sculpture.
When Dr. Bermant can use a tumescent or superwet anesthesia, there seems to be even less bruising. In breast list surgery. Full super-wet or tumescent techniques can result in too much distortion of sculpted tissues. It is a balancing act between distortion and tissue sculpture. However, Dr. Bermant has found using the wet technique before breast lift mastopexy surgery has made a major change in his results and patients' comfort.
