Breast Reduction Mammaplasty Wet Technique
The wet technique permits breast sculpture with:
- Less blood loss and bleeding
- Less bruising
- Less swelling after surgery
- Less after surgery discomfort
- Lower chance needing drains after surgery

Breast reduction surgery can be done with a wet technique. A dilute solution
of local anesthetic and epinephrine injected early during the operation
changes the nature of the surgery. This is similar to the methods used
during tumescent liposuction
or super-wet suction lipectomy. This is also similar to male breast reduction
with tumescent technique
(warning graphic images). The wet technique can be adapted for use with
breast reduction alone or when liposuction is part of the surgical sculpture.
If you are interested in exploring what the wet technique may have to
offer for your own breast reduction concerns, give our office a call and
set up a consultation. We take pride in the education of our patients,
the surgical sculpture, care during and after surgery, and a specific
attention to details.
