Discusses the image dissatisfaction and maladaptive behavioral changes of women with macromastia (large breasts). Found that there was substantial improvement in body image and symptoms such as back, neck and shoulder pain, grooving from bra straps, poor posture, skin irritation, and social embarrassment. Improvement in symptom relief and a better body image did not depend on before surgery body weight and helped both obese and normal weight women.
