Photographs bilateral otoplasty ear surgery in a male patient
Patient was concerned with his ears sticking out, uneven, and a missing fold.
Otoplasty Sculpture: Both ears conchal bowl setback, cartilage scoring, Mustarde setback, and lobule setback.
29 year old male
Location Surgery: Bermant Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Center (Office Operating Room)
Anesthesia: Local with sedation
There are many aspects to his ear deformity that makes them stick out. His conchal bowl pushes each ear out too far. The antihelical folds are very weak and further cause ear to protrude. Otoplasty surgery treatment in this case consisted of multiple elements.

Understanding ear deformity and the result of otoplasty ear surgery requires to look at the ears from multiple views. Take your time to view the problem and solution from the views.
Dr. Bermant started the correction by setting the concha back further. Dr. Bermant then formed a better antihelical fold by both weakening the cartilage and then suturing behind the ear pulling the ears closer to the scalp. Blending each element is part of surgical sculpture. Fixing multiple problems by over compensating one aspect creates unwanted distortions.
