Photographs bilateral otoplasty ear surgery in a female patient
This patient complained that her ears were too large, protruded, were uneven, and that the earlobes were too big.
Otoplasty Sculpture: Both ears conchal bowl setback and lobule setback. Mustarde setback upper pole of left ear,

Anesthesia: Local with sedation
She had relatively well formed antihelix before surgery. The deformity was mainly from the concha that pushed the ears out too far.

These ears were asymmetrical. Notice the top of the left ear that protruded further from the scalp than the right before surgery. This protrusion was from a difference in the antihelical folds near the top. The earlobes needed to be set back to maintain a balanced appearance.

The conchal bowls were set back as the main portion of this ear surgery. Dr. Bermant increased the upper left ear fold to restore symmetry.

From behind, you can see the change in ear position that the conchal bowl set back created. The scars are behind the ear. The earlobes no longer protrude.
