The Antia Helix Slide Otoplasty is a technique to sculpt the rim of the ear. Helix defects from birth, trauma, or tumor can be reconstructed. Variations can manage deformity of the cartilage and skin of most parts of the helix. The skin incision is hidden along the edge of the ear. The helix cartilage is then divided from the scapha. Keeping the rim of the ear attached to the skin behind, maintains sensation and blood supply to the helix skin and cartilage. Dr. Bermant then removed the deformity of the rim of the ear. The upper and lower helix skin and cartilage are advanced together to fill the defect.
