Surgical Details of Gynecomastia Male
Breast Reduction Surgery - Dressing and Bandage
Dressings may
vary after Gynecomastia male breast surgery by Dr. Bermant. This will
depend on several factors.
One of Dr. Bermant's typical bandages
is a clear plastic material over a piece of non stick Telfa.

Clear plastic dressing
being applied after surgery. These clear dressings need to remain dry for 24 hours after surgery. After that, most of Dr. Bermant's patients may take limited showers. |
 |
The non stick Telfa
bandage can be seen under the clear plastic. The sculpted tissue is still sore. When showering, avoid the direct trauma of the spray on healing tissues. |
Rarely, drainage may accumulate
making the white Tefla red. There may be enough fluid for a bubble under
the clear plastic.
 |
Dr. Bermant usually uses some gauze
padding to add pressure to the chest area after surgery. This is
often held in place with your after surgery garment. |
 |
Foam tape is another
form of pressure dressing used in certain unusual cases by Dr. Bermant. For
most patients, a compression
vest is used instead of the foam tape. |
