Check List for Technique Issues - Photos for Liposuction Stomach, Thighs, Hips, Love Handles, and Buttocks

Please check your images before sending them to us. You should be able to clearly see your problem on your images.

For a Preliminary Remote Discussion to be effecive, Dr. Bermant needs to see pictures that demonstrate your concerns.

Check List for Standard Images for Stomach, Abdomen, Thigh, Love Handles, Thighs, & Buttocks Liposuction

The photos must include AT LEAST as much as in these images. The view should extend from the neck to the abdomen.

The arms should be a little way away from the sides except the bending over view to evaluate symmetry (evenness). Holding the camera in one arm makes it impossible to determine any differences between the left and right sides.

If there is something you feel is best demonstrated by a specific different view, please include that detail. We are interested in your concerns.

Frontal Photograph

Before body contouring surgery photos:
Pictures should fill the frame of the image. Detail is lost if the important information occupies only a small part of the frame. The view may extend to the shoulder and down to the knees.

The frontal view should have the body parallel to the camera film plane.

Left and Right Lateral Photographs

Side photos should be perpendicular to the camera film plane. Side and oblique views can have the arms at the sides (which in some cases will obscure details). In some cases it is better to have the arms behind the back to show possible concerns they would otherwise obscure. Raising the arms can stretch loose tissue and can distort the anatomy.

Try to have a plain background without clutter. Be careful not to hide your contour concerns in shadows.

Front Oblique Pictures

Oblique pictures should be at 45 degrees and half way between the frontal and side photographic views.

The images should be in focus. Blurred pictures have little value for Dr. Bermant.

Back Oblique Pictures

Posterior oblique pictures should be at 45 degrees and half way between the back and side photographic views.

Posterior View and Bending Over Pictures

In some cases, the posterior view is important. This picture can show if the problem extends around the torso requiring contouring around the entire body. Bending over photograph lets it all hang out, the folds of flesh show up more.

Extra Skin Picture

Loose skin folds can sometimes be demonstrated by holding the extra skin for a photograph. Some scars can also be demonstrated with pictures.

If you feel that other pictures better demonstrate your concerns, please include those views also.

Photographs can be mailed to us. If you want them back, please include return postage. E-mail of compressed images is also possible. Medium JPEG compression permits faster uploads and downloading. Images can be as small as what you see here. 200 pixel high photos are fine for computer viewing and quick transmission.
