Unilateral Mastectomy Male Breast Surgery and Fat Flap Sculpting for Gynecomastia
This male patient was embarrassed with his large left breast and big nipple / areola. The problem started at about the age of 16 to 18 years old and has been stable in size since the age of 18. He is a bodybuilding enthusiast and exercising has aggravated the problem. The deformity looked worse when flexing his chest muscles and muscle building. He was dealing with his gynecomastia by wearing thicker clothing, extra layers of clothing, and avoiding chest exposure.
33 year old male
6 foot 2 inches tall weighing 180 pounds
Location Surgery: Bermant Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Center (Office Operating Room)
Anesthesia: Tumescent Local with Sedation Left Breast Only
Method Left Breast: Dynamic technique, excision mass, liposuction contouring, and fat flap sculpture
Method Right Breast: No surgery performed
This was a very difficult sculpture. With one side normal, making a large breast reduction look similar to an operated side is asking for almost the impossible. There was mealy no fat, the deformity was mostly gland.
