This
young Duke stand proudly in front of the painter in 1785 with
a bent nose. It is not uncommon to end up with a similar nasal
deformity after nasal trauma. Reduction of the nasal fracture
is best before the swelling starts or before the nasal bones have
healed in bad alignment. Nasal deformity after healing can be
improved with plastic surgery. Rhinoplasty is the name for a group
of operations that can improve symmetry and other nasal deformities.
