The open rhinoplasty has a columellar incision across the columella. Dr. Bermant closes the deeper aspects of the skin with a dissolvable suture. The skin is then repaired with fine nylon sutures.

These fine skin sutures are removed by Dr. Bermant in his office about 6 to 7 days after surgery.

The skin closure continues under the nostril edge with dissolvable sutures. These stitches will dissolve and fall out on their own.

Most of the repair is hidden inside of the nose. You will need to perform wound care for the exposed sutures. Dr. Bermant will help you understand what care your specific nasal sculpture will require.
