Defect After Other Doctor's Liposuction Failure to Treat Male Breast Enlargement
This patient was unhappy with his areola and nipples which he still felt were protruding. He already had liposuction by one surgeon 6 years ago and then secondary liposuction by another doctor 1 year ago (neither Dr. Bermant). He asked Dr. Bermant to remove more tissue.
26 year old male
6 feet tall weighing 194 pounds
Dr. Bermant's Recommendation: it can be very difficult to refill defects and free scars. It is easier to remove than to replace tissue. Further resection will not improve crater deformity nor free adhesions. Dr. Bermant sees many patients from around the world who have had prior surgery by other doctors. Notice the defect and depression with raising arms, skin is adherent to the chest muscles.

Tightening the chest muscles has the same effect, tethered skin is pulled in looking unnatural.

The defect of missing tissue is best seen from the side as the muscle pulls the skin in when tightened.

The degree of deformity was different on the left and right sides. The cavity defect was extensive. There was too little surrounding fat to compensate for this large a defect.

Removing more tissue was not a reasonable option. It is easier to remove than replace. Dr. Bermant did not operate on this patient before and was not able to offer a reasonable revision option for this individual.
